My Career Plan
Work through four steps, in any order you like. When all four are done you get a one-page plan you can print or hand to a counselor.
- Start the questions
Step 1
Discover what fits you
Your interests point at the kind of work you'd actually enjoy doing every day.
Answer a short set of real-life questions to find your top three interest areas.
- Open career profiles
Step 2
Explore matching careers
Seeing real pay, outlook and training turns an interest into an option you can plan for.
Open at least two careers matched to your interests and see what they pay and require.
- Build the plan
Step 3
Price out the life you want
Knowing the salary your life costs tells you which careers actually support it.
Build a monthly budget in the Future Lifestyle simulator to find your salary target.
- Set a next step
Step 4
Commit to next steps
A plan only counts when it names what you'll do next — a class, a certification, a conversation.
Set at least one next step you can start this school year.
Finish step 1 to see careers matched to you.
